One first year resident and one second year resident are assigned to the 16 bed inpatient rehabilitation unit under the supervision of attending physicians in Rehabilitation Medicine. The residents assume primary medical responsibility for the patients assigned to them, taking advantage of the knowledge of their fellow team members as well as consultant physicians. The Johns Hopkins Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation provides a three-year (PGY2-4) residency program with extensive training in the evidence-based diagnosis, care and treatment of patients with disabilities.
